The Cheongsam is no longer worn only during the Chinese New Year festive season, but is a quintessential classic piece in every modern woman’s wardrobe. And the best part of sewing your own Cheongsam is: you get to decide if you want to create a chic version or stay with its ever classic design where you can never go wrong with it. 

In this course, you will learn to draft cheongsam dress pattern, transfer pattern to fabric; sew and attach lining, mandarin collar, sleeves (optional), bias tape, invisible zipper and darts.

There are a total of 6 sessions in this course:

Saturday (2-5pm) : 22, 29 Dec, 5, 12, 19 Jan & 26 Jan  

This is a Level 3 workshop: You should be very comfortable handling the sewing machine. Basic dressmaking experience is required. You would need to have a sewing machine to complete homework.

Materials to bring: 

Price excludes fabric and materials, please bring: 2.5-3yards of cotton dress fabric(non stretchy/non see-through, no stripes/checks/chevron prints please), 2-2.5yards of lining fabric, 18 inch concealed zipper in matching color, a set of 3 medium-size Chinese Knot Buttons in matching color, 1 pack of matching bias tape, matching thread for both fabric and bias tape
