Basic Alteration and Modification 102

Bought or thrifted a piece of clothing but it doesn’t quite fit you? Fret not! Pick up some basic alteration and modification techniques at this workshop to help you fix it as you deem fit!

In this 3-hour workshop, you will learn:

• Part 1: How to take in/let out side seams/darts for better fit (for blouses/dresses/skirts only)
• Part 2: Hemlines: Shortening and Extension, various hem finishes
• Part 3: Adding in-seam hidden pockets (for flare skirts/dresses only)
• Part 4: Application of techniques to 1 clothing item (Depending on the complexity of the item, you may not complete the alteration within class time, but we will advise you on how to complete it at home)

This is a Level 1 workshop: suitable for beginner learners with prior sewing experience with the sewing machine! You are expected to have a sewing machine at home to complete the alteration.

This workshop is open to adult learners only. Not suitable for absolute beginners. For absolute beginners, do consider joining Basic Needlework 101 or any of our level 0 workshops.

Please bring along 1-2 pieces of clothing that you wish to alter using the basic techniques to be taught in this workshop. This workshop does not cover alteration of gowns/menswear/jackets/denim wear.

This workshops requires a minimum number of registrations to start. 
Course fees will be refunded if minimum number is not met.
